Our Successes

For over four years, Sustainable Sight Initiative (SSI) has been working with Compassion, one of our NGO partners, to interrupt the trachoma reinfection cycle.  Compassion treats eye infections with EyeBath, a treatment based on an FDA approved immune system stimulant with antibacterial properties.

More than 19,000 people - over 17,000 children and 2,000 adults in various stages of the disease have been treated with 100% rate of success.

No trachoma symptoms remained following EyeBath treatment.  Eye health was restored to pre-infection condition, sometimes in one day.
